Meet

David Bradley

David Bradley is a man of many interests and multiple talents.

After serving in President Carter’s Administration as Congressional Liaison at the Small Business Administration, David helped found the National Community Action Foundation in 1981. This allowed him to carry on the programs and legacy of his mentor, Sargent Shriver. It was in his role as CEO of NCAF that David created the Community Services Block Grant, or CSBG as it’s widely known. Since its inception in 1982, almost $20 billion has gone into communities to allow them to address the causes and effects of poverty, and to seek local solutions.

David’s work at NCAF enables him to work on authorizing and appropriation issues affecting childhood education, low-income energy issues, community development and job training programs.

David’s work on low-income issues drew him to Washington and Lee University where he helped launch the Shepherd Poverty Consortium. Currently, 22 colleges and universities have developed a poverty curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Schools in SHECP include Notre Dame, Middlebury, and Ohio University to name but a few. In addition, 20 more colleges and universities have expressed strong interest in establishing programs at their schools.

In this era of extreme partisanship, David’s public affair firm Bradley Advisory Group prides itself on bi-partisanship and a proven track record of working across party and ideological lines to craft sensible bi-partisan policy solutions. He is often recognized as one of the few individuals in Washington who can, and does, work with both House Speaker Paul Ryan and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He is extremely active politically, with both parties, in the House and Senate.

Lest you think David’s life is all about politics, Congress and legislation, as President of Bradley Sports Group he is also part owner of several minor league baseball teams. These include the Albuquerque Isotopes, AAA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, the Biloxi Shuckers, AA team of the Milwaukee Brewers, as well as two teams in the Baltimore Orioles system; the Bowie Baysox and the Frederick Keys.

David is a frequent speaker on the lecture and banquet circuit.  He is called upon frequently to comment on the current political landscape, but perhaps more importantly what it means in the future for Congress, the political parties and for our country.

David holds both a bachelors and masters degree from George Washington University and was a Senior Executive Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School for Government at Harvard University.

He and his wife Nancy live in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
